Bird Fanatic

Gary’s wife was a bird fanatic. She liked to spend her days nursing injured birds she found back to health. Gary was normally pretty good with this, he tolerated well. After a tough day at work, Gary came home just to find an oil-soaked seagull on his favorite armchair and a duck with a bandaged flipper sprawled across the floor. He stalked into the kitchen angrily and found his wife tending to a shivering little bird. Gary built up his voice and started fuming “Lucinda, I have had enough of this -” “Please,” his wife interrupted, “not in front of the chilled wren.”
